Michael Grimm Wins It All on 'America's Got Talent'

Last night following the finals performances America voted for their favorite contestant and the result was an upset for the bookmakers. Their odds had pointed  to Jackie Evancho to win. It didn't work that way. Instead, when the voting results were announced Michael Grimm, the excellent guitar-playing crooner won it all - the million dollars, the headline show in Las Vegas and headlining the cross-country tour. Perhaps in a way it's appropriate that Michael gets his opportunity to live his dream. Jackie, on the other hand has many years in which she will be a star and make many millions of dollars in the process.

Michael Grimm is going to celebrate his 'America's Got Talent' win with a ring - for his girlfriend.

The Mississippi crooner, who won the show's fifth season Wednesday night, told People.com he now plans to propose to his girlfriend of three years, Lucie.

Grimm’s special lady inspired him to sing Percy Sledge's 'When a Man Loves a Woman' on Tuesday night, which turned out to be his best performance of the season.

"That's my girl," he told the gossip website, "and I'm not going to let that one go."

Even so, the Mississippi crooner - who takes home $1 million and a contract as a Las Vegas headliner - didn't miss a chance at flirting with folk singer Jewel, with whom he performed "Me and Bobby McGee" during the finale.

"She smiled at me and I almost vomited," he told People.com of the gorgeous singer. "I couldn’t believe she smiled at me that way!”

As for the woman he beat - 10-year-old Jackie Evancho - Grimm still can't believe his luck.
"I was so prepared to bow out - the biggest nightmare was standing next to her on stage - I knew she was going to win," the 31-year-old told USAToday.com. "I just never thought of winning this."
